One question small businesses owner may have when considering offering group health insurance to their employees is how many Americans are eligible for it. And, small business employees may be interested to know if it’s normal for a small business to offer such insurance.

Believe it or not, group health insurance is relatively common, with roughly 157,000,000 million (49%) of people getting it. According to the Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF), the Northeast and Midwest regions have a higher percentage of employees paying for group health insurance coverage (also known as employer-sponsored health insurance).
